Toscana Camp Club, the new name of camping Argegna, is the ideal place for a holiday in the nature, very peaceful and quiet. It is located at 1,000 m on the sea level, inside the Argegna Park, in a large wood area. Argegna is in Giuncugnano town, in Garfagnana, Lucca province, an area of north Tuscany almost still intact. It is favourable and strategic as starting point for naturalistic trip and to discover small medieval village rich of history and of great artistic and landscape charm.
The camping is equipped with all the necessary services: 60 sites, a mini market; a building with 16 baths and 10 showers, a bowls ground. The major part of the sites is equipped with electricity.
Cottages with all comforts are under construction. Dogs and small pets are allowed in the campsite.
The campsite, surrounded by large chestnut and larch woods, enjoys of an enchanting view, thanks to its placing between the Apuane Alps hard spurs and National Park of Tuscany Mountains, among the pleasant grasslands of two enchanting valleys: Garfagnana and Lunigiana.
The cool climate, during summer also, makes your holyday relaxing; but sports lovers here can find the ideal location to practise trekking, horse-riding , mountain bike, rowing, kajak descents, speleology, fishing and skiing (in winter).
The site is located right next to Road n 445 which connects Aulla to Lucca, and is the borderland with Lunigiana, on the watershed between Aulella and Serchio rivers valleys.
In a very wide area it is possible to venture on the great number of paths indicated by "Garfagnana Trekking" or to visit, even while riding a horse, the amazing Argegna park which includes five provincial towns: Lucca, Massa Carrara, La Spezia, Parma e Modena.
Local cooking, even if poor, is particularly tasty, thanks to the typical Tuscany ingredients such as spelt, boletus mushrooms, chestnut flour and pork meat.
According to the season it is possible to buy homemade products in local farms.
The area is also characterized by the old and interesting historical, artistic and cultural heritage:
Ponteccio Church (XVII century); the Renaissance House "Palazzo Cilla" in Giuncugnano; Magliano Church; Argegna Cathedral consecrated to "della Guardia Lady"; Castelnuovo, the main Garfagnana town; Castiglione, with its XVI century town wall; San Romano and Verrucole Castle, one of the most beautiful Garfagnana views; Castelvecchio Pascoli, town of the famous Pascoli poet; Borgo a Mozzano with the Maddalena Bridge (known as the Devil Bridge) on Serchio River; Vergemoli, with the Colomini monastery and the famous Wind Cave......these are only some of the sites we advise (you) to visit.
