Verona is famous all around the world because it was the setting of Shakespeare’s famous work Romeo and Juliet, but this wonderful city is also known as “Italy’s Little Rome†due to its rich past. Although most of the attractions in this beautiful place are related to the well-known lovers, such as Romeo’s House and Juliet’s balcony, many others follow a completely different line. These include an impressive Roman Arena, the majestic Cathedral of Verona, the red brick Castelvecchio fortress and a wide range of interesting churches and squares, such as the historical Erbe Square transformed today in a colourful marketplace.
